Analysis: Miller, off to a good start after an awful 2016 season, left in the fifth inning of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He had thrown four scoreless innings but walked the first two batters in the fifth and allowed a double. Miller threw one more pitch before being removed from the game. He is 2-2 with a 4.09 ERA in four starts.

Analysis: This was easily the best performance of the season for Miller, whose two wins after three starts put him within one of his total from 2016. ''I thought it was a great outing for him. I was excited because of all the hard work he's putting in and he deserves moments like that,'' manager Torey Lovullo said of Miller, who pitched past the seventh inning for the first time since 2015. ''For us to send him back out in the eighth inning meant a lot to him, I'm sure."

Analysis: Miller, who hit 96-97 mph on the stadium radar gun, walked three and struck out seven. He got the win at home after going 0-8 there last season with a 7.39 ERA in 10 starts. "Given what happened last year, I know that he's very focused and energized for a positive year this year," manager Torey Lovullo said. "He deserves a lot of credit for working hard behind the scenes to make those moments happen."

Arbitrators Andrew Strongin, James Oldham and Phillip LaPorte made their decision Friday, a day after hearing arguments.
Analysis: A 26-year-old right-hander, Miller went 3-12 with a 6.15 ERA in 20 starts last year and made $4.35 million.
