Analysis: Bailey made just his fourth start since returning from February surgery to remove small bone spurs from his right elbow. After surrendering 14 runs in his first two starts this year, Bailey allowed one run in six innings at Colorado on Tuesday. He next takes the ball Sunday against the Nationals.

Analysis: Bailey was very efficient Tuesday, throwing 65 of 99 pitches for strikes to earn his first win since Aug. 12. Three surgeries have limited Bailey to just 11 starts dating from Sept. 5, 2014. Two of those outings came late last month at Washington and against Milwaukee after Bailey was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list. The games left Bailey with a 27.00 ERA as he worked a combined 4 2/3 innings and was strafed for 12 hits, three of them homers, and 14 runs.

Analysis: Bailey made his second start since coming off the disabled list on Saturday. And, unfortunately for the Reds, the results were much the same. On Saturday, Bailey allowed eight earned runs in 1 2/3 innings of an 18-3 loss at Washington.

Analysis: It was Bailey's first appearance since Aug. 28, and it certainly didn't go well. Cincinnati activated the 31-year-old Bailey from the disabled list before the game. The right-hander had arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs in his right shoulder on Feb. 28.

Analysis: Bailey is finally ready to go after recovering from February's surgery to remove bone spurs in his troublesome right elbow. Cincinnati's expected ace was limited to six starts last season as he worked his way back from Tommy John surgery. He threw 91 pitches while allowing two runs over 5 2/3 innings in Monday's rehab start for Triple-A Louisville.
