Analysis: Johnson was the Cardinals' primary rusher after David Johnson was injured but was ineffective in the role, having averaged a mere 28.5 yards on the ground and a meager 2.53 yards per carry through four games.

Analysis: Johnson continues to operate as the Cardinals' primary rusher but remains ineffective in the role, having averaged a mere 28.5 yards on the ground and a meager 2.5 yards per carry through four games. The 32-year-old looks to be near the end of the line and is nothing more than a desperation fantasy play at this point.

|Sep. 25, 2017 8:51 PM PT9:51 PM MT10:51 PM CT11:51 PM ET3:51 GMT11:51 8:51 PM MST10:51 PM EST10:51 PM CT7:51 UAE (+1)23:51 ETNaN: - Chris Johnson ran for 17 yards on 12 carries Monday in the Arizona Cardinals' 28-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He added one reception for four yards.
Analysis: Johnson led Arizona's backfield in touches for a second straight week but didn't do much with them. The Cardinals are now averaging a meager 2.8 yards per rush attempt thus far, and since the former 2,000-yard rusher no longer contributes much in the passing game, he's looking no better than a shaky flex play for fantasy purposes.
|Sep. 17, 2017 2:38 PM PT3:38 PM MT4:38 PM CT5:38 PM ET21:38 GMT5:38 2:38 PM MST4:38 PM EST4:38 PM CT1:38 UAE (+1)17:38 ETNaN: - Chris Johnson ran for 44 yards on 11 carries Sunday in the Arizona Cardinals' 16-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Analysis: Johnson led the Cardinals in yards and carries after re-signing with Arizona this week, outperforming Kerwynn Williams (nine rushes for 22 yards).
|Sep. 12, 2017 3:11 PM PT4:11 PM MT5:11 PM CT6:11 PM ET22:11 GMT6:11 3:11 PM MST5:11 PM EST5:11 PM CT2:11 UAE (+1)18:11 ETNaN: - The Cardinals have re-signed Johnson, less than two weeks after releasing him.
Analysis: The injury to All-Pro David Johnson left open a spot for Chris Johnson to rejoin the team, though it's unclear if he will have much of a role in the running game after failing to earn a job in the preseason.
|Sep. 1, 2017 12:05 PM PT1:05 PM MT2:05 PM CT3:05 PM ET19:05 GMT3:05 12:05 PM MST2:05 PM EST2:05 PM CT23:05 UAE15:05 ETNaN: - The Cardinals have released Johnson.
Analysis: Johnson, who turns 32 on Sept. 23, said earlier this week that he was optimistic to make the Cardinals' 53-man roster despite two fumbles in Saturday's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. The Cardinals re-signed Johnson to a second consecutive one-year deal just before the start of training camp in July. Each of his past two seasons were cut short by injury after not missing a game due to injury in his first seven seasons.
|Aug. 13, 2017 12:04 PM PT1:04 PM MT2:04 PM CT3:04 PM ET19:04 GMT3:04 12:04 PM MST2:04 PM EST2:04 PM CT23:04 UAE15:04 ETNaN: - Johnson had three carries for two yards and did not have a reception in Saturday's preseason win over the Raiders.
Analysis: This performance likely didn't do anything to help his cause to get carries behind David Johnson. However, maybe the fact that Johnson was removed after the opening series is a sign that the Cardinals don't want to waste the veteran's carries now because they're planning on him getting some to spell David Johnson during the season.
